The greatest gift given to us by the risen Christ is the Holy Spirit who inspires us to a life of grace. With confidence we ask God our Father for all the needs of our Church and world.
Let us pray for the Church: may she be so guided by the Holy Spirit that she will continue to proclaim the true peace for our world, the peace which only Christ can give. Lord hear us.
We pray for those in charge of world affairs: may they do all in their power to resolve conflicts by peaceful means. May they, through laws based on human rights and dignity, lay the foundations for lasting world peace. Lord hear us.
For those who are troubled in mind and heart: may they come to experience the inner peace of the Spirit who will bring them consolation and strength and thereby, the ability to live their lives to the full. Lord hear us.
Let us pray for a Spirit of renewal in our community: may we realise there can be no spiritual growth without the influence and power of the Holy Spirit. May we keep in mind at all times that it is He who transforms our lives, filling them with a joy, a hope and a peace the world could never bring. Lord hear us.
We make our prayer with Mary, Queen of Peace, as we say: Hail Mary … etc.
We bring before the Lord our own personal petitions in silence for a few moments.
God our Father, give us your peace and unity as we confidently call upon you in prayer. We make that prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
