God, the Father of light, shone through his Son at the Transfiguration. May we ask him for the light of his grace to help us live to the full our Christian lives.

Let us pray for the leaders of the Church: may their message be full of Christian joy and hope for a world in need of positive guidance and leadership: (pause) Lord hear us.

We pray for those in civil authority: may they foster goodwill and work for harmony throughout the community. May they always see their role in terms of service rather than power: (pause) Lord hear us.

For those who are experiencing little joy in life: may they find consolation in their sorrow and be comforted in their loneliness by a caring community. May they find the peace and joy that comes with turning their minds and hearts to Jesus: (pause) Lord hear us.

We pray for a greater gift of sharing ourselves: may we, like Christ, who shared his joys and sorrows with those he loved, learn to share ourselves in the Christian community to which we belong: (pause) Lord hear us.

We make our prayers with Mary, Mother of God, as we say: Hail Mary…etc.

We pray in silence bringing to the Lord our own personal requests.

God our Father, in all our joys and sorrows, we believe that you are always near bringing light to our darkness. We ask you in prayer to show us the way to glory. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
