God our Father gives us responsibilities in human society. We now pray that we may be faithful to our duties and witness to his love wherever we may find ourselves.
We pray for the Church: may she always give praise to her Lord and be a sign of contradiction to those who live by the standards of a materialistic and self-centred world: (pause) Lord hear us.
May the leaders of government never claim for themselves the honour and obedience due to God alone, but, by their laws and attitudes, acknowledge the existence of a higher order: (pause) Lord hear us.
We commend to God our Father all men and women with violence in their hearts. We pray that they will turn towards the Lord and work with others for the well-being of all: (pause) Lord hear us.
For a greater spirituality in our society: may we respond with generosity to God’s love and in everything we say and do, strive to give the Lord his due glory and power: (pause) Lord hear us.
We pray with Mary, Mother of the Lord, as we say: Hail May … etc.
Let us make our own personal intentions in silence to God our Father who hears our every prayer.
God of justice and peace, hear your people as we call on you. Help us to speak of your greatness and power, of your gentleness and mercy. Renew our faith and our hope that our lives may speak of your love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
