Our Lord warns us always to be vigilant and ready to carry out God’s will in all things. Let us pray to the Lord for the grace to be ready to do his will every moment of our lives.

Let us pray for the Church: may she never cease to work for the Lord so that whenever he comes, he will find her vigilant in her task of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ: (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

We pray for the leaders of society: may they be diligent in promoting Christian values, especially those of the family: (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

Let us remember those who have abandoned the practice of their faith: may they be moved by the Holy Spirit who will enkindle in them the fire of his love. May he renew in them their faith in Christ and his Church: (pause)  …Lord hear us.

May we be given the grace to use the present moment to the full. May we not be too preoccupied with the future, or look back at the past with nostalgia or regret, but live each present moment in the power of God’s grace: (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

We pray with Mary, ever vigilant to God’s will: Hail Mary …etc.

We make our personal petitions in silence, in the firm knowledge that God is our Father and loves us dearly.

God our Father, we have placed our needs before you. Your care of us in the past assures us of a loving answer. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord Amen.
